Project Planning, Scheduling, and Control
Project planning begins with a statement of work that defines what the project is about and why it is being undertaken. It includes a high-level description of the work that needs to be done. It also includes the deliverables expected at the end of each phase, the resources required, and any constraints. The process of developing this statement is called scoping.
The project schedule defines when tasks will start and finish, how long they will take. It also indicates which activities are dependent on others. It is often expressed as a Gantt chart or as a network diagram showing dependencies among tasks. The most common technique for estimating durations is called critical path analysis (CPA). CPA can be performed using manual spreadsheets or software programs like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.

Project Monitoring and Control
Monitoring and controlling the project is an important stage in the project management process. While monitoring involves keeping track of the progress of the project. Control on the the other hand involves taking necessary corrective actions to ensure that the project stays on track.
At this stage, many of the deliverables will be reviewed by the stakeholders. The review is important to check whether they meet their expectations and requirements. If any changes are required, they will be merged into the scope document before going into implementation.
